Learn how to use simple ASL signs to help the babies and toddlers in your care communicate more effectively with our ASL Signs For Little Minds Workshop.

In-Service Workshop

The ASL Signs for Little Minds In-Service workshop introduces the concept of signing for classroom/behavior management and how using signs can help lessen tantrums and reduce frustration for both babies and their caregivers. Participants will learn about the advantages of signing with small children and the supporting research; how signing benefits communication and language acquisition; how to get started signing and the best time to begin; how and when to introduce signs; how to incorporate signs into daily routines and how to use signs with songs and stories. Signing vocabulary will be demonstrated in detail along with ideas and activities to help engage children and make signing fun. Participants will learn approximately 75 words at the completion of the workshop and gain a basic understanding of the history and benefits of using ASL signs with little minds. Workshop is 2 hours.

$25 per person, includes registration, handbook and in-service certificate

CEU Workshop

The ASL Signs For Little Minds CEU course is an interactive workshop that incorporates activities such as games and music to engage participants and reinforce the learning process. The course expands on the concepts described in the In-Service Workshop and gives participants more opportunity to work with the signs. Participants will learn approximately 100 signs along with the manual alphabet and numbers 1 to 20 at the completion of the workshop and will gain a basic understanding of the history and benefits of using ASL signs with little minds. Workshop is 3 hours. Participants who complete the class will earn .3 CEUs.

$45 per person, includes registration, handbook and state fees.

Signing In The Classroom

Would you like to add something unique to your childcare program? Allow us to come and teach American Sign Language signs to your children and watch them light up! Our lessons are based on curriculum developed by the Signing Time Academy, in association with the award-winning Signing Time® Program.

You cannot go wrong by incorporating a weekly signing class into your regular routine. Our dynamic method of introducing ASL through the use of interactive games, storytelling and music is a fun-filled activity your children (and their parents!) are sure to love. Each session is approximately 30 to 45 minutes.
